Since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, civilization has shifted from rural, agricultural communities towards large centers of trade and industry. The economic, cultural, and sociological ramifications of this change are significant, and we must ask: is modern urbanization conducive to human flourishing? If not, what is the best way of living to achieve this? What qualities should we value most in a society? This debate prompts each of us to consider the effects of modern societal life on human happiness. Contribute to the discussion at the Austin Union.
